Black Fret volunteers are driven and dedicated, reliable self-starters who help our events run smoothly and safely, while having a great time at unique and inspiring events. We hold ourselves to exceptionally high standards, delivering premium guest experiences in a wide variety of interesting locations. The music, the people, and the overall energy of the community make it a really special experience.
The vast majority of our performances occur every other Saturday night. Volunteers must be available from 5-11pm. We ask that you commit to one event per month or so, though you can certainly sign up for more!
All event hospitality roles require you to be at least 21 years old, reliable, on time, in good health, eager to lend a hand, and self-motivated to ensure events are clean, safe, and welcoming. You must provide your own transportation to and from events around the city. You must have a cellular and wi-fi-capable mobile phone. Events almost always include alcoholic beverages for guests and we do not allow Volunteers to consume alcohol during the events. Musicians who volunteer may not lobby members for votes.
Black Fret does not provide workers compensation, auto, health, disability, injury, life or other insurance or benefits.
If the Black Fret vision and mission are something you’d like to help move forward in the world, we look forward to hearing from you!
